preparing for Spain

"Where did the summer go?" I find myself asking quite often lately. For it feels like just last week that I returned from Uganda or a few days ago that I was up north at Cedar. A feeling that everything is about to suddenly change has been slowly creeping on my consciousness over the past few days.

I leave for Sevilla in two weeks. Can you believe it? There's still so much to do before then - ponder over Uganda (including writing thank-yous for all the wonderful people that helped me go there!), apply for Scotland, finish my last week at my job, move Joel in to GVSU and take Gunther to Dan in Grand Rapids, and make a list of everything that needs to be done!

Deep breath - remember to be patient and trust God. Everything will be accomplished in its time. I must continually remind myself of God's promise in Jeremiah: "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD. 'Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"

I will write again before I leave, but for any of my Spanish-speaking readers, I've begun a blog in Spanish that I will update regularly in the coming semester. Both blogs will be updated at relatively the same time - one will be a translation of the other.

Do feel free to leave comments, encouragements, and stories; they will definitely be appreciated in the coming months!
